16.6 The oldest castle in Scotland

This is a song of remembrance - a longing for one’s country and people.  My grandmother used to sing this song to my mother when she was a little girl - out on Cape Breton island.  Now, I was singing it at our clan castle on the isle of Barra in the outer Hebrides.  The MacNeils of Barra have perhaps the oldest castle in Scotland.  In Scottish Gaelic, the proper name of the song is Oh chì, chì mi na mórbheanna.
