14.4  Trumpeter plays the Hejnal mariacki in Krakow, Poland

For eight hundred years, every day, a trumpeter plays the Hejnal mariacki from the Tower of St. Mary’s in Krakow, Poland.  He stops mid-note to represent a moment in 1241 AD when the trumpeter, warning the city of an attack by the Mongol hordes, was hit in the throat by an arrow.
